Opening Night at Theatre

Zagat hosted a sneak preview opening of Theatre in Tribeca. Albert Trummer and the lads behind Apothéke created this space as an ode to German cabarets. But the stage isn't for performers, sadly, its for the bar and the bartenders. Still, the locals are pleased to have such a beautiful new cocktail focused bar in the neighborhood. I talked to a neighborhood boy who is originally from Louisiana (and you know what I soft spot I have for Southern boys). By the end of the conversation I was telling him about our plans to have a son named Boudreaux. Moses makes drinks THAT good.

The VIP area behind the bar/stage is accessible Goodfellas style through the kitchen, up and down stairs. It was worth the climb the other night as the beautiful Lynnette Marrero was back there pouring Ron Zacapa rum.

It will be a while before the official opening, enough time to work out the kinks...and maybe get a performance space suitable for Sally Bowles.
