Tonight I am enjoying a Code Noir at 1534. This new Soho bar under a French restaurant takes it's cocktail inspiration from former French colonies; Americas, Polynesia, Africa and Asia. The Manhattan variation comes from the Americas, natch. It's a tasty mix of Rye, pineau des charantes, angostura, peach bitters and lemon oil. I think they mean a lemon twist...but gosh doesn't lemon oil sound fancy!
